You must have mismeasured something. This will be a lifetime favorite for me! Everyone I’ve shared them with loved them! I’ve made them twice since the first batch. Now I’m about to try them with coconut.

I’m curious about the amount of butter stated in the recipe. It states 1 lb of butter, seriously that much butter? One pound of butter is 4 sticks so I’d like to find out before trying this recipe as butter ain’t cheap. Thank you

Make them all the time since l was 16 (am 69 now and never seem to make enough. So easy l make them fresh every time so my chips stay nice and crispy. I have made them with margarine or plant butter and have been just as good ! Just DO NOT USE SPREADABLE STUFF…THAT’S TO WATERED DOWN,! COURSE CHOPPED PECANS ADDED GREAT TO!

In reply to Renee. Chances are you may be scooping the flour into your measuring cup which compacts it and actually gives you more flour into your cookies, thus a dry cookie dough. Sift or fluff with a fork, then measure out with a spoon and you might get better results.

In reply to Deborah Ward. I have made them with 1/2 vanilla and 1/2 almond extract! Very good! Split the amount of extract called for with half vanilla and half almond.
