Before I talk about this Strawberry Tomato Jam, let me share a little about my past weekend.
Who doesn’t love a handful of sweet and salty trail mix?? I made up a huge batch and couldn’t resist a few little “tastes” as I was bagging it up.
I stumbled upon the original Chex Mix recipe on Pinterest the other day and decided to make up a batch. It’s been years since I’ve made it, so I figured I’d make some up. Yep, it’s a good as I remember! I did mix it up a little by adding in some pretzels and cashews. I also decided to not use the seasoned salt and used Good Shit seasoning instead. Yes, there really is such a thing. They sell it at a little boutique that I visit often. It’s similar to the seasoned salt, but has more of a salty sweet flavor to it. In case you’re curious, you can order it here.
If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!! These hot wings might test you on that saying. I was honestly afraid when I tasted the sauce mid way through cooking that they were going to be too hot, but when I tasted one of the finished wings (with some blue cheese dip), it was just perfect. They might be too hot if you don’t like spicy, but if that were the case, why would you want to eat hot wings??? They were the kind of hot that didn’t burn your lips, instead I think I said, “whoa, these are a little hot…..as I’m reaching for another one.” That’s a good kind of hot!
Onion dip that is made with real onions? Yes, please!! This onion dip is so delicious and I think you’ll agree it doesn’t compare to the onion dip that is made from two ingredients (a tub of sour cream and a package of dry onion soup mix). I grew up eating the latter, and once I tried this, I haven’t gone back.…
I made this these delicious Roasted Lemon Thyme Mushrooms twice during the holidays and each time they were a huge hit. I’ve always done my own version of a spinach filled mushroom, which are also delicious, but these are my new favorite. The combination of the lemon, thyme, and garlic, with the rustic flavor of the roasted mushroom is perfection!
I highly suggest you try these at your next appetizer party or get-together. I could also imagine serving these as a vegetarian main course with a side salad.
This appetizer is as delicious as it looks. It’s tasty, simple to make, fresh, and healthy! My daughter first made this appetizer for me and I was sold on the first bite. This will definitely be a go-to appetizer for me.
We’re a little past fresh homegrown tomatoes, but these store bought ones were perfectly delicious and I love the multi colors they gave the dish.
*The great thing about a recipe like this is that none of the measurements need to be exact. A little more of this, a little less of that, and it will still be delicious! …
